Helping Learners Grow in Confidence
Aside from teaching the course content; teachers and trainers also seek to develop the learners in all areas of life. One of the areas that the ‘biggest wins’ take place are in watching learners develop interpersonal skills and grow in confidence and communication skills throughout. These skills will help learners in all walks of life but are often not featured or assessed in the ‘typical curriculum’. Sometimes these are referred to as ‘soft skills’ and include areas such as ‘communication’, ‘confidence’, ‘team work’, ‘presentation skills’ etc.
In this session we will explore ‘what interpersonal skills are’ and how to develop these skills. Finally, we will take a dive into ‘programming’ to demonstrate how we can embed this in the wider curriculum.
This session is ideal for trainers and managers who are looking to increase their knowledge and skillset, specifically in areas of planning. This session can also be very useful for people in ‘coaching’ and support roles to help develop a suitable approach and structure for their learners. This masterclass is also a very useful CPD session for more experienced teachers, trainers and managers who may be mentoring newer teachers/trainers or carrying out session observations.
