A Focused Workshop for ITPs implementing New Audit and Risk Committee Requirements
The ESFA Provider Financial Handbook requires/recommends that most providers establish an ‘independent’ Audit & Risk Committee as an important contributor to protecting public funding.
The concept of an Audit & Risk Committee is new to most ITPs and at this important workshop we will consider:
- the approach to establishing an effective and compliant Audit & Risk Committee
- membership, terms of reference, agendas, frequency of meetings and reporting arrangements
- the importance of establishing an annual audit cycle and an annual reporting plan
- the controls and assurance framework needed for audit to be effective
- the interface between the Audit & Risk Committee, the Board and the Senior Management Team
At the workshop we will give clear guidance and advice on how to interpret the expectations of the handbook and how to ensure that the Audit & Risk Committee is embedded and adding value to you organisation within a 12 month timeframe.
